Altamira Hits 395.5 Meters GoldBob Moriarty I wrote a short piece about Altamira Gold about six weeks ago when they released a teaser press release talking about visuals from the first hole completed at Maria Bonia. I’m not a big fan of press releases talking about visuals. They tend to attract the “buy the rumor, sell the news” kind of investors. In spite of outstanding results from the first hole this year at Maria Bonia of 158.2 gram meters the weak hands sold on Wednesday October 15th when the company announced assay results from that hole with the shares dropping 10.6% on the day. When judging assay results you want to see two things. One is grade, the other is length of intercept. The very best way to measure them is to convert to gram/meters. Basically, anything over 100 gram/meters is excellent. You need to multiply the grade by the length. So, while 395.5 meters of intercept is world class, a grade of 0.4 g/t gold is weak for some investors. It isn’t weak with that kind of length. This hole is going to add a lot of ounces to the existing 1.42 million ounces of gold at Cajueiro. As I write, gold is trading at $4199 an ounce or $135 per gram in USD. In an open pit mine 0.4 g/t gold is outstanding. Today tells me that many investors in Altamira are missing the forest because of all the trees in the way of their vision. We have record high prices for gold and silver almost daily and investors still cannot see what is right in front of their noses. Altamira has completed an additional five holes in two of the other nine priority targets in Brazil. At the Tavares Norte and the Morro Verde projects Altamira has finished 1,256 meters of drilling and sent the samples off for assays. The 43-101 resources released to date for Altamira are within this structure. A second deep hole is in the process of being drilled at Maria Bonia. Altamira is an advertiser. I have bought shares in the open market and will participate in any upcoming private placement so that makes me biased. It is these tiny low market cap cheap stocks that will gain the most in percentage terms. I liked the stock at higher prices; I love it down here. Altamira Gold Corp ### Bob Moriarty |
