Viridian Metals Awaits Copper Nickle and Cobalt AssaysBob Moriarty Viridian Metals (VRDN-C) expects assay results shortly from their 185 square km Kraken copper-nickel-cobalt project in Labrador on a similar trend and mineralogy to that of Voisey’s Bay. The Kraken deposit is a vast low-grade series of over 150 conductors or pods near surface stretching over a strike length of 64km. The project has been drilled and explored in past years but the combined prices of copper and nickel didn’t justify putting the project into production. Times have changed and with copper hitting all time new high prices the deposit makes sense. Analysts agree the future for copper looks very bright. Viridian is targeting between 41 million tonnes to 61 million tonnes at an average of 0.35 % CuEq to 0.52% CuEq with an average thickness of 8.6 meters based on drill testing only a 2 square km Kraken Main target. With two drills turning in the 2026 drill program the company has already drilled one hole with mineralization of over 50 meters from one meter depth. Kraken has been drilled in the past by both Teck and Kennecott with not all core actually assayed. Teck had one assay of 18 meters of 0.43% CuEq while Kennecott showed a hole giving 0.5% CuEq over 8 meters. The company has a 2026 drill budget at Kraken of $800,000 with two drills operating through the end of October drilling only short, under 100-meter holes from surface. Most intercepts reported to date show mineralization exceeding 20 meters thick. The real news here is the incredible number of pods or conductors already identified all less than 150 meters in depth. Viridian is drill testing only the first 100 meters so they will have a lot of shallow (cheap) holes to report. The current drill program at the Kraken project focuses on the 5-kilometre strike length of the Kraken Main Zone. While the grade of the mineralization is not as high as that of Voisey’s Bay, the size and number of the conductors is much larger at Kraken. Assay results will be reported from the 2026 ongoing drill program within the next week or two. Viridian Metals is an advertiser on 321gold. I have bought shares in the open market but you practically have to make an appointment to do so. Management and directors own about 62% of the shares, institutions own another 18% leaving only a tiny 20% of shares available to retail investors. This is one of the tightest held stocks I have ever seen. Obviously as an investor and since the company is advertising, I have a vested interest. Do your own due diligence.
