Algo Grande Copper Delivers Excellent Results from Phase II

Algo Grande (ALGR-V) began an 8,000 meter fully funded Phase II program in June of 2026. I wrote about it a few days later. Assays have started to flow out. With the rocket ship higher in the price of gold and silver you can safely assume the labs are up to their eyeballs in work. It takes time to get assay results.

On the 11th of September Algo Grande reported assays from hole AG-CG-PH2-002. That was the first hole reported from the ongoing Phase II drill program at the ALGR Adelita copper/gold skarn project located in Sonora Province in Northern Mexico. Just as a matter of interest, Sonora produces about 80% of the entire output of copper in all of Mexico. ALGE is surrounded by copper elephants as it were.

The hole showed an intercept of 30.23 meters of 1.5% CuEq in the skarn. To the great pleasure of the company the intercept was a hundred meters higher in the system than they had guessed. There was a high-grade core within the overall intercept of 3.55 meters of 5.26% Cu, 311.8 g/t silver and 2.22 g/t gold. I happen to love this company because of their association with Dr. Peter Megaw, the foremost expert on deposits in Northern Mexico. But the news release is a bit technical and will be confusing to many investors.

While I’m not an expert, I have been to enough projects to have some idea of how they are formed. In this case a magmatic intrusion pushing higher into the mantle bearing traces of mineralization with it. Acidic hot water dissolves some of the minerals and moves higher into the earth. When it hits a layer of something like limestone formed from seashells a zillion years before, the change in chemistry precipitates the minerals out of solution and forms what is called a skarn.

In many cases, skarn deposits are related and physically close to porphyries. With the assays already released when ALGR took over the project, clearly there is a nearby porphyry. Investors love porphyries because they want to see intercepts of hundreds of meters of low-grade mineralization. However, skarns while showing shorter intercepts, provide much of all the copper produced due to their much higher grade. This hole on top of what they came up with in Phase I and drill results from the prior operator show it’s a system with district scale potential.

So far, only the first 179 meters of drilling from hole 002 has been reported. Drilling continued to a depth of 661.8 meters when the drillers encountered barren granite and stopped drilling prior to the planned 700 meters. The remaining 482.8 meters has yet to be announced however. Holes 003-005 have been completed and visually show long intervals of copper mineralization. When those assays are reported, it could blow the lid off the price of the shares. I have believed since I was first informed about the company that they had the potential for a giant discovery. Everything since then has led me to believe the company is absurdly underpriced.
