Ted actually answered
the phone when the FedEx man called up from the security gate
this morning, to deliver our package from Harmony Gold in South
Africa. We had ordered some of Harmony's 10-tola gold bars, and
we had eagerly tracked the FedEx shipment online since it left
Jo'burg just 44 hours before.
Look how thrilled Ted is. (Click
on the right for a close-up, the bottom picture is the better
one). It was a real surprise to have the gold bars in gorgeous
velvet and silk-lined green boxes. And the gold is just, just
wonderful, all sparkly and heavy. The gold bars are far more
beautiful than we'd imagined. And each bar comes with an authentication
paper of weight and analysis, with your (actually, my) name on,
and signed by Ferdi Dippenaar who we meet when we go to the SanFran
gold show. He's a sweetie, and a passionate gold lover.
