Tom Wobker RIP
1944 - 2016

1 May 2016

It is with heavy hearts that we report of the death of Tom Wobker. Long-time 321gold readers will remember him from when he worked for Pennaluna.

Tom passed away peacefully on Saturday 23 April, 2016 after a lengthy battle with cancer. But according to his very close friend and colleague, John Swallow, who was with him to say 'goodbye' the day before, "He was a trooper and kept a sense of humor to the end."

We send our condolences (aka love and hugs) to his wife, Sharon, and all of his family and friends. Who will hopefully be consoled by the fact that Tom no longer has pain and suffering.

I (Barb) have always been close to Tom. We were both the same age and we shared our wisdom and discussed the good old days. And he was a shoulder for me to cry on when I was in one of my "o me miserum" moods. So I was one of the fortunate people who had regular emails over the past 2-3 years on what Tom often titled "Wobker's continuing medical adventure." This was so typical of Tom. Always positive... All of life is an adventure... Tom's glass was always half full.

And when Bob went to a silver summit 18 months ago in Spokane, he and Tom met for coffee and had a great time bemoaning the state of the world, and the state of their aches and pains. Self-described as "a couple of old farts."

RIP Dear Tom. You are sorely missed.
